About Us

Carrier Services is division of Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad.

Carrier Services was created after the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific railroad merger in 1996.

In 1997 Carrier Services was a $4 million company, managing 15,000 units annually.  Today, Carrier Services is a $30 million company, managing more than 300,000 shipments annually.

Carrier Services supports Union Pacific Railroad Marketing & Sales and Operating Departments. One of Carrier Services business objectives is to support the UPRR with off-rail logistics by providing motor carrier service at a competitive price. Carrier Services also has AAR Short Line Railroad status as a Junction Settlement Carrier.
