About Us
Through quality processes, Union Pacific Carrier Services (UPCS) will continue to build a strong foundation of transportation and logistics suppliers to provide our customers truck and drayage transportation solutions at competitive prices with a fair rate of return for our employees, our parent company Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), and stockholders.
UPCS was created after the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific railroad merger in 1996.
In 1997 UPCS was a $4 million company, managing 15,000 units annually with six employees. Today, UPCS is a $50 million company, managing more than 400,000 shipments annually with more than 30 employees managing shipments.
UPCS is division of Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad.
UPCS supports Union Pacific Railroad Marketing & Sales and Operating Departments. One of UPCS business objectives is to support the UPRR with off-rail logistics by providing motor carrier service at a competitive price. UPCS also has AAR Short Line Railroad status as a Junction Settlement Carrier.
