Use Transload Bill of Lading when UPDS is Send Freight

March 04, 2008 – UPDS and Union Pacific Railroad are making a change that affects how customers submit billing information where UPDS is the "Send Freight" party.

In an effort to provide more effective communication tools for our One Plus customers, Union Pacific Distribution Services is streamlining our billing procedures. Effective Monday, March 17, for movements using UPDS as the "Send Freight party", customers submitting waybills through Union Pacific Railroad's website will be directed to Union Pacific Distribution Services' (UPDS) Transload Bill of Lading. Customers will need only to input the billing information into the UPDS Transload Bill of Lading.

The benefits of using the UPDS Transload Bill of Lading are advanced communication of inbound product to destination Transload Facilities, increased visibility of One Plus shipments while in route, and improvement of billing timeliness on invoices. In addition, UPDS' Transload Bill of Lading will automatically communicate rail movement instructions to Union Pacific Railroad.
