Currently, UPDS supports the 004010 and 005020 versions of the ANSI X12 standards to exchange EDI data.
Access
UPDS has its own Value Added Network (VAN); Transentric, which has a direct connection to all the commercial VANs (GEIS, AT&T, Railinc, Kleinschmidt and 20+ other third-party exchanges.) UPDS also offers FTP options. The carrier is responsible for all VAN charges.
Envelope Control Information
UPDS uses the ISA/IEA segments as the interchange envelope that marks the beginning and the end of a transmission.
